Shortly after the new year, both my daughters decided to have their hair cut and donate to Locks Of Love. With school, basketball and the usual busyness, we just this past week were able to accomplish this. Since the Locks Of Love website does not list salons that will take care of the packaging and the sending in of the hair, I needed to make phone calls and drive by the local salons to look for the Locks Of Love sticker on the door. I found what I was looking for at Dazzlz Spa Salon in Barnegat, New Jersey.

I had passed by Dazzlz countless times in my years here, but never availed myself of their services. Immediately after arriving at Dazzlz Spa Salon, I took a look at their brochure while waiting for my daughter's haircuts to begin. I was very impressed by the offerings of Dazzlz Spa Salon. Besides a full range of hair services including cut, color and style, Dazzlz also provides manicures and pedicures as well as facials, massages, waxing and airbrush tanning. Dazzlz Spa Salon also offers spa packages such as A Day Of Beauty which includes pedicure, seaweed facial, one hour massage, a light lunch and a haircut and style. This seemed like a very blissful way to spend the day for $170.00. There are several other packages that are less expensive, but undoubtedly no less relaxing and rejuvenating.

My younger daughter took the first appointment and was slightly nervous. Even though she is eight years old, this was her first haircut at a salon. Her hair has always been quite curly and for the first few years, it grew out instead of down. Parents of curly haired children will know exactly what I am talking about. I periodically trimmed the dead ends off, but there was never a reason to have her hair cut at a salon before. The stylist was very sweet and calmed her fears immediately. By the end of the haircut, Emily was thoroughly enjoying the experience.
